Stress Tests and Induction
Shannon NST #3 07/13/2026

In advance of our scheduled induction, Shannon and Barrett underwent a series of 4 "Non-Stress Tests" (NSTs) which are typically used for higher risk pregnancies to determine if the baby is properly adapting to contractions/labor.

They involve the use of two sensors (one for the baby's heart rate, and one for contractions) to track fetal movement and determine if the baby's heart rate is increasing during movement, as it should.

These all went very well and Barrett's responses to Shannon's contractions were indicative that he should be ready for a healthy delivery. Shannon was actually in pre-labor during our first session (having real contractions 2-3 minutes apart) so we got an excellent sample test, and fortunately for all of us Barrett decided to stay put afterwards 😅

We are looking forward to induction on 07/22/2026 and bringing our baby boy into the world.
